I was looking for a dental studio that felt modern and up to date, but also clean and sanitary and Zen Dental turned out to be a good choice. The neighborhood is not the nicest but it’s a short walk from the Muni, so it’s pretty easy to get to. The welcome area is nicely put together, and the space overall feels modern and well-maintained. Their equipment seems very modern and they were able to troubleshoot an issue I had from some previous dental work. They showed me clear pictures to explain what had gone wrong, which I appreciated. The filling work itself was careful and detailed and they were responsive to any preferences I had during the appointment. I was also checked in with regularly to make sure I was doing OK throughout the process. I received a quote in advance, so there were no surprises with billing. Overall, a professional and smooth experience.

By far the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Love Dr Carpenter and the entire staff. Plus all the nice little things they have, like massage chairs and warm eye masks make it actually enjoyable to visit. Highly recommend!!

Clean facility and exceptional service. I’ve seen many dentists here and they all have great bedside manners. I appreciate the reminders for my appointment so I don’t forget. I drive in from the east bay just to see them!

I am deathly afraid of the dentist and have had some really traumatizing experiences in the past. I would like to give the warmest thank you to Bella at the front desk (along with all the other front desk employees, who are also lovely), who has gone out of her way to be empathetic, thoughtful, and welcoming throughout every dental experience I've had there. How someone treats you and validates your feelings can really make a difference in how someone interprets an experience, and her kindness and warmth has made me feel just a little less afraid.

You can opt between watching Netflix or relax with a lavender scented eye mask, while you get your teeth cleaned. Never have I enjoyed going to the dentist before so much :)
