After having the same family dentist for 11 years, the pandemic and a medical emergency with my longtime dentist kept me from getting dental care. Then I moved to San Diego for college and became so focused on school that I neglected my health. Before I knew it, it had been exactly six years since my last dental visit. I made an appointment with Dr. Ricardo Hernandez at Pacific Beach Smile Studio, and I couldn’t have had a better experience. The entire staff made me feel so welcome—they offered me water, hung up my purse, gave me a towel, and made sure I was comfortable from start to finish. The office is spotless, everyone is incredibly friendly, and Dr. Hernandez is professional, thorough, and kind. They found 10 cavities and got me scheduled for treatment as soon as possible. I was extremely nervous for my appointment, but the staff gave me a little tooth-shaped stress ball and made me laugh with jokes before the procedure. Their kindness immediately put me at ease, and the treatment was quick and painless. Leaving the dentist I’d had since childhood was scary, but Pacific Beach Smile Studio completely exceeded my expectations. They took away all of my worries, and I’ve found my new dentist for as long as I’m in San Diego. I highly recommend Dr. Ricardo Hernandez and his amazing team!

Dr. Hernandez and his staff are fantastic. I went through cosmetic orthodontic work as an adult, so I’m pretty particular when it comes to choosing a dentist I want someone who aligns with both my wants and my needs. I been going here for a few years now and am so glad I found them. Dr. Hernandez and his team are incredibly thorough. The hygienist even hands me a mirror at the end and asks if everything looks perfect which it always does! Honestly, where else do you get that level of attention to detail? Lawny at the front desk is also amazing. She’s always so helpful with my insurance and makes sure I’m getting the most out of my benefits. Highly recommend this office if you’re looking for quality care and a team that really goes above and beyond.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Hernandez for many years. He’s a great dentist and the office staff always takes good care of me. There’s a new hygienist in the office (Marlene) who is wonderful. She’s very gentle and very thorough. She also explains everything she’s doing. I’ve had my teeth cleaned many, many times and she’s one of the best hygienists I’ve ever had!

I came in for a routine cleaning and to fix two chipped teeth, and was really impressed by the level of care I received. He took the time to listen to my concerns, explain my options, and made sure I felt comfortable before starting any work. His staff is also incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better—and there’s plenty of convenient on-site parking, which is a huge plus. He carefully filed and filled my chipped teeth and adjusted my bite with incredible precision. Throughout the process, he checked in to make sure I was happy with both the look and feel before moving forward. The results are natural, my bite feels better than ever, and it’s clear he truly cares about his patients and his work. Highly recommend!

After not having a dentist for years, I contacted Smile Studio for an emergency appointment, and they were able to see me quickly. Awesome! That said, I was unsure whether this would be one-time visit. I came in pretty skeptical, but the atmosphere was very relaxing. I didn't have to wait at all after arriving slightly early. Everyone—Betty, Dennis, Dr. Hernandez, Dr. Kim, Lawney, Leida—was incredibly nice, supportive, accommodating. They addressed all of my issues and made what could have been a very bad experience actually pretty pleasant. I happy to have found them, and I'll be returning routinely! Highly recommend!
