I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Dental Town DC, specifically due to their billing and office management, which ultimately led me to stop care with this practice altogether. I was dealing with illness and contacted the office in advance regarding my appointment. Despite notifying them before the appointment time, I was later told I would be charged a $150 “cancellation/no-show” fee — even though I did not fail to show and explicitly communicated that I could not attend due to being sick. The interaction with the billing/office manager, Michelle, was especially troubling. Instead of addressing the situation professionally or with empathy, the communication was rude, dismissive, and focused entirely on collecting money, rather than patient care or fairness. There was no effort to acknowledge that I gave notice or to work toward a reasonable resolution. What’s most frustrating is that this situation could have been handled easily and professionally. Instead, the office chose to escalate it in a way that felt money-grabbing and punitive, rather than patient-centered. Losing a long-term patient over a questionable fee is shortsighted, and it speaks volumes about the priorities of management.

Horrible Experience, the Dentist preformed a root canal on the wrong tooth claiming he could do the work of an endodontist. I was still in extremely pain so I returned to the office. The dentist explained there office preformed the root canal on the wrong tooth and used up all of my insurance allotted amount. Even though they did the root canal on the wrong tooth I had to pay out of pocket for the correct tooth to have a root canal. I verified that my bill was paid in full at the time of service. Then several months later I get calls and mail saying I have a balance due. This is a fraudulent dental office.

After calling ahead of time to ensure and clarify I would be seen by a female provider (I have diagnosed PTSD) I was still scheduled to be seen by a male provider. When I arrived, I again clarified, and they neglected to tell me an error had been made until halfway (30 minutes) through the appointment. I was told I could “be seen by a male provider for the exam or come back another day”. I asked how this could have happened since I called a few times to double check. I was told that the information about my condition was in my file and I “had done everything I could to prevent this”. The dental hygienist said “there must have been a last minute switch or something”, then, with profound condescension, told me that “Everyone needs a job you know. Everyone has to work.” as if I hadn’t taken PTO to go to a 3pm dental appointment, or perhaps didn’t understand how employment worked. At no point did I imply the opposite, or claim that men shouldn’t be dentists, that would be absurd. I simply can’t see male medical providers, something that has not been an issue with any of my other providers or practices. The complete disregard for patients/clients with pre-existing medical conditions is obviously very disappointing, up until their location change I had enjoyed the care I received here. Needless to say I won’t be returning and encourage others with mental health or trauma related conditions to avoid this practice.

I recently had to switch dentists due to some dental complications, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have found this amazing team. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely cared for, rather than being treated as just another patient on the schedule. Marybeth, my hygienist, did an exceptional job with a thorough and thoughtful evaluation of my teeth. She took the time to really understand my dental history and past procedures, which made a big difference in how confident and comfortable I felt during the visit. Dr. Kary is incredibly skilled, competent, and professional. You can tell he really knows his craft. I felt completely at ease under his care. I’m truly thankful for the level of attention and kindness I received, and I’m happy to have found a dental team I can trust moving forward.

Finally I have found a dental office where everyone is top notch in their profession. Everyone from the very competent doctors, to the assistants, to the front desk assistants are beyond kind with their smiles and warm nature. I seriously would not consider going anywhere else!
