I have had a longstanding fear of dentists for many years due to some bad experiences, so I was nervous about starting with someone new. Belmont Family Dentistry has been a breath of fresh air - the staff are friendly and helpful from the front office to the providers. Dr. Tinkle is the Ted Lasso of dentists; he is kind, he listens and has a very caring approach. Danyell is an amazing hygienist - she is a wonderful calm presence with a ready smile and you can tell that she loves what she does. She did a deep cleaning only using topical numbing gel and checked in with me often - I had no discomfort during or after the cleaning.

I have both great things to say and some disappointments in communication. The good — staff is super kind. Location is clean, efficient, well maintained and well run. Nothing but good things there. But as a new client, I filled out 20 minutes worth of forms online. Did not hear back for a month. Called, and was told my info was "lost to the ether" and they needed to "take that button off the site." Annoying, but these things happen. We set an appointment over the phone — a text confirms. Later, I get a text to enter my info again. I respond specifically to make sure I'm setting up a routine 6 month cleaning. They tell me x rays have to be done for any new client before they can do my cleaning (despite me having x rays done about a year ago with my old dentist in Bend). They quote me at $335 for this. I think okay, I'm going to have my x rays done, and on the same day, same appointment, I'll have my cleaning (with 2 other dentists this is exactly how it went — x rays followed by a 30 minute cleaning). Turns out, this is not the case. I was never told that my cleaning was not happening today, despite inquiries to specifically have a cleaning appointment. I assumed $335 meant x rays and cleaning as one charge. It's an extra $130 for a cleaning, and I have to wait another month before they have an opening in their schedule. All of this is understandable. I just wish it were all communicated to me expressly beforehand. There are a handful of places in Portland offering $100 first time client x ray/cleaning deals — I would've gone elsewhere had I known it was going to be $335+$130 and 2 separate appointments here. Again, the staff and location are fantastic. I would recommend them. I'm just disappointed with how this went down and feel like I lost more money than I was willing to spend on x rays that I already had. And in the end I still have to wait another month for a cleaning.

Crazy, huh? I actually love going to the dentist!! Have had nothing but the best care from Dr Tinkle. Today Emily did a fabulous clean and polish…. Highly recommend Belmont.

Best dentistry! The staff is lovely- doctors, hygienists and the front desk ladies are awesome! I no longer have anxiety going to the dentist. Dr. Yoon is informative about my care & easy to talk to. Thank you everyone for your wonderful care 🩷

Dr. Tinkle and all his staff are a pleasure to be around. They always have smiling faces and uplifting attitudes. They know there profession well and you feel confident with the ending results. They're always ready to go that extra mile if needed, they just want you to be happy with your looks. I highly recommend them to anyone, whether you're young or old.from a simple tooth cleaning to a complete restoration like I had. Trust me you won't be disappointed. And if by a 1 percent chance you are, he'll fix them. And I do plan on going back for any future dental care
