Featured Listing Terms of Service

1What Is Included

A Featured Listing subscription includes:

• Listing on your city page
• Enhanced practice information
• Top placement within your city page's featured section
• Enhanced profile with photos
• Top Rated Dentist website badge and award assets, provided to every designated practice at no charge and included here for convenience
• Reviews.ai subscription, stated retail value $360
• Press release written and distributed through FeaturedDentist.com, including syndication to Yahoo Finance, stated retail value $495
• Front desk recognition stand (one physical unit)
• Additional AI search visibility benefits as described in Section 6

Stated values are the standalone retail prices of those items. They are not a discount, a credit, or a refundable amount. Bundled items have no independent cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash or account credit.

2Fees, Term, and Renewal

The subscription fee is the amount presented to you at checkout. Unless stated otherwise at purchase, the subscription is monthly and renews automatically on the same day each month until cancelled.

You authorize us to charge your payment method for the recurring fee and any applicable taxes. If a payment fails, we may suspend the Featured Listing and all bundled benefits until payment is resolved.

We may change pricing on renewal with at least 30 days' notice. Continuing after the change takes effect means you accept the new price.

3Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and the Featured Listing and all bundled benefits end at that time.

Fees already paid are not refundable, in whole or in part, including where the press release has been written or distributed, the recognition stand has shipped, or the Reviews.ai account has been provisioned. Once distributed, a press release cannot be recalled from third-party outlets.

4Editorial Independence and the “Top Rated” Designation

This section is important. Read it carefully.

Purchasing a Featured Listing buys placement and enhanced presentation. It does not buy a rating, a ranking, an award, or an endorsement.

Inclusion in the directory and any “Top Rated” designation are determined by our published selection criteria, applied independently of payment.

Practices are evaluated and designated before any purchase is offered. A qualifying practice keeps its listing and its designation whether or not it buys a Featured Listing.

A Featured Listing moves an already-qualifying practice to the top of its city page and expands how its profile is presented. That is what the fee buys.

Designated practices that have not purchased a Featured Listing are displayed in randomized rotating order. City pages are not ranked lists, and no designated practice is presented as ranked above another on the basis of the designation.

We do not sell, adjust, or guarantee ratings, review scores, or editorial rankings.

Paid placement is labeled on the Site as “Featured / Sponsored” so visitors can tell the difference between the earned designation and purchased position.

If your practice stops meeting the selection criteria, we may remove the designation and the badge while the subscription is active. If that happens, we will notify you and you may cancel; fees for the current period remain non-refundable, and remaining paid periods, if any, will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.

4.1How the Score Is Calculated

Practices that meet the qualifying criteria receive a score out of 10, published on the badge and award assets.

The score is derived from publicly available Google review data, using the practice's average star rating and its total review count. The formula treats every practice as if it began with 75 reviews at our 4.5 qualifying baseline, then moves toward the practice's actual rating as its real review volume grows. This means a small number of high ratings will not by itself produce a top score, and a practice with substantial review volume behind a strong rating will score higher than one with the same rating and few reviews. Scores are capped at 9.9.

Because scores are calculated only for practices that already meet the qualifying criteria, the published range reflects differences among designated practices. It is not a scale applied to all dentists.

The formula and its constants are published on our methodology page. A score reflects the data available at the time the designation was made and is not updated retroactively on issued badges or award assets. Scores are a summary of public review data, not an assessment of clinical skill, treatment outcomes, safety, or suitability for any patient.

4.2Coverage and Completeness

Our selection draws on public data sources, which are incomplete and change over time. We cannot identify every practice that might qualify in a given city.

A practice may be absent from a city page because its data was unavailable, incomplete, inconsistent across sources, or not surfaced by our process, and not because it failed to qualify. Absence from the directory is not a negative finding about any practice, and the designation should not be read as a statement that non-listed practices are inferior.

We apply our criteria in good faith and make no representation that any city page is a complete, exhaustive, or error-free ranking of the dentists in that market. We may add, revise, or remove listings as data improves.

5Badge and Marketing Asset License

Badges are awarded, not sold. Every practice that earns a Top Rated Dentist designation for a given city and year may display that year's badge at no charge, whether or not it purchases a Featured Listing.

Each badge and award asset is stamped with the city, the year earned, and, where shown, the score earned. We grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to display those assets to promote the designated practice.

You agree that you will:

• Use the badge and assets exactly as provided, with no alteration to the city, year, score, wording, marks, or design
• Not display a badge for any year or city in which the Practice was not designated
• Not present a prior-year badge in a way that implies a current-year designation
• Not imply any affiliation, certification, accreditation, sponsorship, or clinical endorsement beyond a directory designation
• Not use the assets for any practice, location, or provider other than the one designated
• Remove or correct any badge, asset, or claim that misstates the designation within a reasonable time after we ask you to

Because badges are year-stamped, you may keep displaying a badge for any year you earned it, including after a Featured Listing ends. What you may not do is alter it or present it as something it is not.

The recognition stand becomes your property on delivery and is subject to the same rules.

We retain all rights in our names, logos, badges, award designs, page layouts, and directory content. Nothing here transfers ownership.

6Search and AI Visibility

Bundled benefits are designed to improve how your practice is presented to search engines, AI assistants, and answer engines, including structured data, machine-readable profile content, and syndicated coverage.

Independent research published by BrightLocal in July 2025 examined which sources AI search platforms drew on for local business queries. In its dentistry searches, ChatGPT sourced only from dental directories, and TopRatedDentist.com was identified as a source for Gemini, Google AI Mode, and ChatGPT. That study was conducted by a third party, covered a limited number of searches at a point in time, and was not commissioned by us. We reference it as background on why directory presence matters, not as a prediction of results.

We do not control Google, Bing, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Yahoo Finance, or any other third-party platform. We make no representation or guarantee about search rankings, AI citations or mentions, indexing, traffic, impressions, call volume, leads, new patients, or revenue. Third-party platforms change their systems without notice and may remove or ignore any content at their discretion.

7Press Release

The press release is written and distributed by FeaturedDentist.com or another distribution partner we select.

You will review and approve the release before distribution. Approval means you confirm the statements about your practice are accurate and substantiated.

Distribution includes syndication to Yahoo Finance and other network outlets. Individual outlet pickup, placement, duration, and continued availability are controlled by those outlets, not by us. Some outlets remove or expire syndicated content.

We do not guarantee any specific outlet, URL, placement, retention period, or search result.

One press release is included per subscription unless stated otherwise at purchase.

8Reviews.ai Subscription

The bundled Reviews.ai subscription is provided at the plan level specified at purchase and is governed by the Reviews.ai terms of service and privacy policy, which apply in addition to these Terms.

The bundled subscription is tied to your Featured Listing. It starts when your account is provisioned and ends when the Featured Listing ends. It covers the listed practice only and may not be resold or shared across unrelated organizations.

If your Featured Listing ends, you may keep using Reviews.ai on a standalone monitoring plan at $30 per month, covering review monitoring for your Google and Yelp listings. This plan is optional and does not start automatically. You must opt in before or shortly after your Featured Listing ends, and it is billed separately from the Featured Listing. Standalone plan features and pricing may change with 30 days' notice.

9Your Content and Representations

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, resize, and distribute the practice name, provider names, photos, logos, descriptions, service lists, and other materials you supply, for the purpose of operating and promoting the Site and preparing your press release and award assets.

You represent and warrant that:

• You are authorized to bind the Practice
• You own or have permission to use everything you submit, including photographs of people, staff, and facilities, and any third-party trademarks
• The information you provide is accurate and not misleading, including credentials, specialties, licensure, and any claims about services or outcomes
• You will not submit protected health information, patient identities, or patient images without valid written authorization, and you remain solely responsible for HIPAA compliance
• Your display of the badge and any related claims complies with your state dental board advertising rules and applicable law, including rules on superlatives, comparative claims, specialty designations, and testimonials

You are responsible for confirming that your use of the badge and award language is permitted in your jurisdiction. We do not provide legal, regulatory, or compliance advice.

10Our Rights

We may edit listing content for length, formatting, accuracy, or style, and may decline, modify, suspend, or remove any listing, photo, or claim that we believe is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, non-compliant, or inconsistent with the Site's standards.

We may suspend or terminate a Featured Listing immediately for non-payment, breach of these Terms, misuse of the badge, submission of false information, or conduct that creates legal or reputational risk. In the case of termination for breach, fees are not refundable.

We may change the composition of the bundle, including partners and included benefits, with substantially equivalent replacements.

11No Professional Relationship

The Site is an advertising directory. We are not a dental practice, dental referral service, healthcare provider, or insurer. We do not provide dental or medical advice and are not responsible for the care any practice provides to any patient. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship.

12Disclaimers

The Featured Listing and all bundled benefits are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty regarding uptime, results, or business outcomes.

13Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Featured Listing, or any bundled benefit will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost patients, lost data, or loss of goodwill, even if advised of the possibility.

14Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless UniqueDentist.com LLC d/b/a TopRatedDentist.com, its members, officers, and contractors from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your content, your use of the badge or award assets, your advertising or marketing claims, your regulatory or licensing obligations, your handling of patient information, or your breach of these Terms.

15Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict of laws rules.

Informal resolution first. Before starting arbitration, the party with a complaint will send written notice describing the dispute and the relief sought to the other party. The parties will try in good faith to resolve it for 30 days after that notice.

Binding arbitration. If the dispute is not resolved, it will be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be seated in Montgomery County, Maryland, before a single arbitrator, and may proceed by written submission or videoconference unless the arbitrator orders otherwise. The arbitrator's award may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Individual basis only. Claims will be brought only in an individual capacity. Class actions, collective actions, class arbitration, and consolidation of claims are waived. The arbitrator may not preside over any form of representative proceeding. If this paragraph is found unenforceable, the entire arbitration agreement is void and disputes will instead be heard in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, Maryland, where both parties consent to personal jurisdiction and venue.

Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies there. Either party may also seek injunctive or equitable relief in court to stop unauthorized use of its trademarks, badges, or other intellectual property.

Fees. Each party bears its own attorneys' fees. Arbitration filing and administrative fees are allocated under the AAA rules, and the arbitrator may reallocate them in the award.

16Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes apply from your next renewal, and we will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after that date means you accept the update.

17Entire Agreement

These Terms, plus the Site Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and any order form or checkout page, are the entire agreement about the Featured Listing and supersede prior discussions. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
